The African cup of Nations is set to take place next year, January and as such European clubs would be forced to release the African Players in at their disposal, to enable them represent their respective countries in the forthcoming 2022 African Cup of Nations that would be hosted in Cameroon.
However, some European clubs are insisting that they would not release some of the African players at their disposal, on the grounds of the health of the players amidst the outbreak of the Covid19 Virus.
Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy are the African players who play for Chelsea football club, some how the duo will leave for the AFCON tournament in Cameroon next year January.
Chelsea fans will miss Mendy and Ziyech as league continue across Europe, it is obvious that Kepa will keep Mendy’s place in the blues squad while Hudson-Odoi who recently returned from Covid-19 will fit in Ziyech’s position.
We had series of news from the media that Ziyech was left out of Moroccan squad for the African Nation Cup in Cameroon but it hasn’t be confirmed yet. No cause for alarm over Mendy position in Senegal squad, it will be part of the likes of Sadio Mane who play for Liverpool and amongst other to make the team strong and unbeatable.
