Transfer Deadline Update: The Premier League and English Football League’s winter transfer window shuts at 23:00 GMT, an hour before the Scottish Premiership deadline.

It is 17:00 in Germany’s Bundesliga, 19:00 in Italy’s Serie A, and 23:00 in Spain’s La Liga and France’s Ligue 1. (all GMT).

TOP STORY: Barca is close to signing Aubameyang, but could Dembele be the next player to leave?

It looked like Barcelona’s Transfer Deadline Day might finish in a whimper earlier in the day.

Their talks with Arsenal over a loan deal for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had apparently broken down, with the Catalan club reportedly only able to pay a small portion of the striker’s £250,000-a-week wage unless they could sell Ousmane Dembele. That’s no longer the case.

Barca and Arsenal have agreed on a deal that will see Aubameyang join Barca on a free transfer, bringing his four-year stay in north London to an end.

21.56 GMT: Liverpool have reached an agreement with Fulham for the signing of highly rated 19-year-old winger Fabio Carvalho, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Reds are expected to spend roughly €10 million for the England youth international, who will remain at Craven Cottage for the rest of the season.

21.50 GMT: Following the revelation of Carlos Salcedo’s departure from Tigres for Toronto FC, the Liga MX team has announced the permanent signing of 24-year-old attacker Yeferson Soteldo from the Canadian club.

21.44 GMT: Carlos Salcedo, a Mexico centre-back, has joined Toronto FC from Liga MX giants Tigres. On a three-year Designated Player contract with an option to stay with the Reds in 2025, the 28-year-old returns to MLS, where he played in 2013 and 2014.

21.40 GMT: According to De Telegraaf, Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn’s projected move to Ajax has been canceled.Spurs were hoping for a €25 million price for the 24-year-old Dutch international, who would also require a large salary package compared to Ajax’s other players. Despite previously confirming the signing of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus, Antonio Conte is said to want to keep him in north London.



21.30 GMT: Rangers, the current Scottish Premiership champions, have signed Wales international Aaron Ramsey on a six-month loan from Juventus. The former Arsenal midfielder has struggled for form, fitness, and opportunity in Turin this season, appearing in just 112 minutes in all competitions.

21.13 GMT: Sky Sports reports that Atalanta would be willing to allow Duvan Zapata to leave on loan for the remainder of the season.

Newcastle United are still looking for a striker, and while the Serie A club is reportedly unwilling to include a permanent option, they are willing to pay a £5.5 million loan price to part ways with their top striker.

In 19 starts this season, the 30-year-old has scored 12 goals and assisted on another seven, including one of each in a Champions League group stage match against Manchester United.

20:46 GMT: According to Foot Mercato, Sporting Lisbon has boosted its offer to lure Islam Slimani back to Lisbon. The club has given the 33-year-old striker an 18-month contract with the option of a one-year extension, but he must choose to end his contract with Lyon if he is to make the transition.

Juventus will receive €19m plus €6m add ons, as previously reported here. Boca Juniors will receive 30% of this deal.

As confirmed by MLS Colorado Rapids and Arsenal, the Gunners have sewn up a move for central defender Auston Trusty.

A statement read: “The Colorado Rapids have reached an agreement with English Premier League side Arsenal FC for the transfer of defender Auston Trusty, the club announced today. Trusty will remain with the Rapids on loan before departing for Europe on July 17.

“Auston is coming off an exceptional season in 2021 in which he played a vital role in helping us finish atop the Western Conference for the first time in our history,” said Pádraig Smith, Colorado Rapids Executive VP & General Manager.
