Thomas Tuchel Angrily Speaks About Dropping Mendy In Chelsea's Next Game

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has dismissed suggestions that goalkeeper Edouard Mendy should be replaced after his blunders in Saturday’s 3-2 lost to West Ham.

Mendy started to lose form against Manchester United when spotted given away pass to his opponent, and he was also made mistake against West Ham leading to the Hammers to level the score line at London Stadium on Saturday.

The Senegalese international had a bad day, giving up a penalty in the first half after bringing down Jarrod Bowen following Jorginho’s errant back-pass, and then being caught out for West Ham’s winner in the 87th minute after failing to adjust quickly enough to keep out Arthur Masuaku’s mis-hit cross.

Tuchel says the 29-year-old goalkeeper will maintain his spot in the club ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga despite his blunders that helped West Ham to prevail against Chelsea.

When asked if he will consider dropping Mendy by beIN Sports, Tuchel shook his said and replied: “I don’t think so.”
