Stamp Duty: Nigerians react to FIRS 6% to be pay by tenants

The work of the Federal Inland Revenue service (FIRS) is to source for domestic alternatives on how to make money (Revenue) for Nigeria. This includes taxation, bill boards and other domestic charges.

Tenants to start paying 6% stamp duty: THE Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has directed landlords and property agents to charge 6% Stamp Duty on all tenancy and lease agreements.

Reacting to this, a Twitter user had this to say, “It will never be well with this people, they want to screw up the middle class while enriching themselves. Does property owners pay taxes? It’s the tenants that will now bear tax burden. God will punish these evil people making life miserable for us.”
