MTN request its subscribers to dial *785# and input their NIN for submission after which it’ll bring up a “Submitted Successfully” message.

How to Check if your NIN Successfully Linked with your Airtel Phone Number

If you’ve linked your NIN to your Airtel SIM by dialling the *121*1# code, then you should have received a message stating that they’ll get back to you on the verification status.

To check your Airtel NIN status, dial *121*1#. Then you should receive a message if it has been successfully linked or you have successfully added your 11 digits NIN and they will get back to you after verification from NIMC.

9mobile seem quite different as they provided the option to verify the NIN linked to your SIM card. Simply dial *200*# You’ll be provided with 3 options which the number 1 is to verify your linked NIN, Select 1 and wait for a confirmation message.

Kenya 

There are barely seven days remaining to the April 15, 2022, a date set by the Communications Authority of Kenya as the deadline for the SIM card registrations.

In a statement, the Communications Authority cites says that there are so many SIM cards that are not registered as well as those that are registered with IDs with the owners of the IDs not being aware, a situation that has led to criminal activities in the country.

To Update your SIM Card before the issued deadline, you are required to carry your original National ID to your SIM card network provider’s shop and your details will be updated. A passport size photo will also be taken and you will be asked to sign a form to validate your registration.

How to Check your SIM Card registrations

Use a Universal USSD code (SIM cards) *106# to check all the SIM cards you posses in order to know which IDs registered them. However, even after confirming that the SIM cards are registered with your ID, still you’ll have to visit a nearby shop for other details like your passport photo.
