Nigerians have dragged Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami to resign on social media following the alleged linked with Boko Haram terrorist.
#PantamiResignNow top today trend on twitter as Nigerians called out Pantami to resign Following his linked with Boko Haram terrorist. Here are some tweet from Nigerians on twitter as they call out Pantami to resign office
“Today is another day to remind us that an Al-Qaeda sympathizer and Osama Bin Laden’s supporter should never be our comm Minister.
He can never be trusted with personal contact details of ‘Enemies of Allah”
“Once a terrorist always a terrorist. It’s an ideology thing.”
“Let’s pack Pantami’s sycophancy aside, can someone list one thing has Pantami achieved since when he became minister???
Base on my experience, telecommunication in Nigeria has never been as poor as its right now under Pantami.”
“Now that Isa Pantami has renounced his extremist ideology, he should do the right thing and resign from office.
If he truly wants to make up for his past, he should continue the work of engaging and de-radicalising young jihadis, not handle national affairs.”
“Kemi Adeosun resigned over forgery.
Stella Oduah resigned over corruption allegations.
Everyone condemned them and non asked for forgiveness to continue as a minister.
Pantami ‘s case won’t be different.
A supporter of Taliban and al-quaeda.”
“I was young when I made some of the comments; I was in university, some of the comments were made when I was a teenager.” – Isa Pantami
This is not about age. I was once a teenager too – and I never supported killing people of different religions or beliefs.”
“We seem to have moved from
I-will-sue-for-character-defamation to I-have-renounced-I-am-now-mature
Dude,Maturity behoves that you carry your load & go,sin no more
“Few wks ago I unapologetically stated on this street that Nigeria is being Governed by TERRORISTS, some scallywags came calling me names but today I have been vindicated by Pantami’s admittance to the crime of Terrorism a capital offence in all sane climes.”
However, MURIC, in a statement signed by its director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, described the report as fake news.
“It is fake news. It is a lie from the pit of jahannam. It is a product of malice, envy and evil desire concocted in the laboratory of the notorious ‘pull him down’ (PhD) syndrome. It exists only in the imagination of the authors of the evil plan. It will not stand the test of authenticity.
“Pantami is an honest, diligent and uncommon Islamic scholar whose ability to combine his discipline with digital expertise has raised him above his peers and made him an indispensable asset to this country. It is only people with diseased minds who do not want progress for Nigeria that can make such malicious yet false allegation against him.
Therefore, those who claim that Pantami ‘spoke glowingly’ of associates of terrorist leaders are apostles of Lucifer and pathological liars.
“In fact, Dr. Pantami removed the rug from under the feet of Yusuf, the erstwhile leader of Boko Haram. This he did in several debates during his days as a university lecturer and those videotapes are still available for all to watch,” the statement read in part
