Chelsea have been heavily linked with a return of Real Madrid star Eden Hazard to the Stamford Bridge in January transfer.
According to Express.co.uk, that the former Blues man would provide a welcome boost to Chelsea’s attacking options, with the likes of Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi having struggled for consistency over the course of the last two seasons.
His experience and well-earned status as a legendary figure at the club may also serve to boost morale ahead of the business end of the campaign.
It remains to be seen whether Hazard will be allowed to leave Real Madrid in the near future, with the Belgian under contract until the summer of 2024.
AS.com reported that Eden Hazard is open to loan out of the club in January transfer window which will be a huge opportunity for Chelsea to grab him back to the bridge.
As Ancelotti said: “He is ready to play but the problem is that there is a coach who prefers other players at the moment.” With a stack of wide players at his disposal – Lucas Vázquez, Gareth Bale, Rodrygo, Asensio – Hazard has been limited to just 415 minutes this season, making him Ancelotti’s 17th most-used player.
As such, Madrid are open to offers for Hazard and if one comes in that seems appropriate, it will be considered. The Belgian is not at fault for his Bernabéu career going south, but given his salary – €30m per season – and Madrid’s pursuit of other targets such as Kylian Mbappé or Erling Haaland, the feeling in the boardroom is that it may be time to cut losses.
Hazard is reportedly not interested in leaving the Bernabéu. According to Spanish broadcaster COPE, sources close to Hazard have confirmed he is not interested in leaving the capital while he and his wife are expecting their fifth child.
But due to his poor performance this season Madrid are considering of loaning the Belgian in January, West Ham and Newcastle United also interested in signing the 30-year-old star.
