Harry Kane has promised Chelsea fan who died while watching Belgian 0-2 England match, as he reportedly accepted Chelsea offer to join Blues this summer
Kane wrote on Twitter: ‘I’m so sorry to hear about Charlie passing away – my thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends.
‘We will give it everything tomorrow and for the rest of the tournament for fans like Charlie. RIP Charlie Naughton.’
Thomas Tuchel statement about Chelsea summer transfer window
“Two or three (signings) could be very, very good. It’s a constant thing to never deny change; that you always bring new energy, new guys who question the old beliefs, who challenge everybody in the training and in matches, so I think it’s a good thing.
“We don’t need another seven and another complete turnover because it’s also our job to keep on improving, because we have still a young squad and it’s not about stealing from them the chance to prove it again, that they are capable of growing and evolving. But we have some ideas, of course, to make the group stronger, and I think this can always be a positive thing to challenge all of us.”
Chelsea have also been tentatively linked with the English striker, but Spurs’ reluctance to sell to a London rival has made this deal a non-starter so far in this summer transfer window.
Here is how a select number of Chelsea fans reacted on social media after seeing the Tottenham striker put in a masterclass of a performance against Ukraine.
@olemudarra said: “@ChelseaFC pay £150,000,000 now for Harry Kane idc.”
@dreamchaser_cfc stated: “Harry Kane is miles ahead of him [Erling Haaland], and is better than him.”
@Oliseh_11 decided: “Between Kane and Haaland, I’d pick Kane 10/10 times.”
@kennaz_ simply put: “Hi, @ChelseaFC, sign Harry Kane.”
@QueFirulais had this to say on why the striker is playing so well at this moment: “Harry Kane is only world class right now because he’s trying to get on the Blues next year and he’s using Euro 2020 as his Chelsea audition.
According to Football.London, all signs point towards the Blues actively pursuing Haaland as their first choice striker to bring in this summer, but with stumbling blocks already presenting themselves in this deal, such as the club’s reluctance to pay Borussia Dortmund’s asking price for the Norwegian star, there could be some movement in a potential Kane to Chelsea deal later on in the transfer window.
The Blues faithful have their next chance to analyse the 27-year-olds potential, when England face Denmark in the semi-finals of Euro 2020 on Wednesday July 7
