Goodluck Jonathan congratulates Omoba Tsola Emiko as 21st Olu of Warri

Former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has congratulated the Olu-designate of Warri Kingdom, Omoba Tsola Emiko, on his (Emiko) forthcoming coronation as the 21st Olu of Warri.

The event is billed for the 21st of August, 2021 at Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral home of the Itsekiri people, home and abroad.

The ex-President in a personally signed congratulatory letter dispatched to the Olu-designate, copies of which were obtained by journalists in Warri on Thursday, noted that Emiko’s ascension to the throne of his forefathers “comes at a time when our nation is in need of vibrant and transformational leadership owing to the different challenges we are facing as a people”.

While applauding the Itsekiri for their right choice, Jonathan remarked that “the Itsekiri Kingdom is renowned for rich and colorful history, one that has lasted for hundreds of years”.

He counselled the Olu-designate to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Itsekiri by “using the opportunity provided by this divinely ordained appointment to contribute your quota to the assignment of national development”.

The former President said, “The royal stool to which you have been found worthy is a national treasure, an emblem of patriotism that has produced notable leaders in our country.”
