Expected Chelsea Lineup Against West Ham, Mateo Kovacic Miss Out Of Madrid UCL Clash

Chelsea will take on West Ham today in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge, as we look at how Thomas Tuchel will Lineup his side against West Ham United today.

Blues manager Tuchel has reveal that Corotian midfielder Mateo Kovacic will miss the Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid and hopefully will be back in time for the return leg. Kovacic has been impressive and outstanding as he suffered hamstring injury in training ahead of Champions League quarter-final return leg against FC Porto.

The Chelsea manager said: “Me personally, I think we can hope for Fulham, but don’t take it as medical advice.

“Maybe the physios and doctors will kill me for that. I think Madrid could be very close, but obviously he has not trained with the team.

“When should this happen? Tomorrow is the game, then we have two more days to prepare for Real Madrid for the semi-final of the Champions League. Hopefully Fulham is a realist target.”

Kovacic is the only injury concern for Chelsea.

Tuchel also confirmed Edouard Mendy will be back in goal after Kepa started the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City, as well as the goalless draw with Brighton.

He added: “The change was made for Kepa for the Cup game. And even before the Cup game, the goalkeeper coach and me decided that Kepa would stay in for one more game after City as a reward to keep the rhythm of playing every three days.

“It should be like a real reward and not just reward him for the competition because of how he is playing, and in the dressing room he is simply outstanding in terms of quality and personality and I’m very happy that he could show it on the pitch again.

“He had two clean sheets in two difficult matches for us. So, it is a very good feeling to know we can rely on two goalkeepers and they can produce clean sheets.

“They earn our trust in the moment and the situation in general has not changed – Edouard will be in goal tomorrow.”

Here is the expected Chelsea lineup when they take on West Ham later today at the Bridge

Predicted Chelsea XI lineup:(3-4-2-1) Mendy; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; James, Kante, Jorginho, Alonso; Ziyech, Mount, Abraham.
