Chelsea are back in Champions League action this weekend, but supporters have an interest in the Europa League.

European club competitions has returned this week and the Blues face Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Saturday evening as they look to reach the quarter-final by overturning a 3-0 first-leg deficit.

That will be the second European fixture to be played in Germany in the space of two days after Bayer Leverkusen beat Rangers 1-0 at the BayArena to reach the Europa League quarter-final.

Kai Havertz – a Chelsea transfer target – was in action against the Gers and that gave supporters another chance to scout the £90m-rated attacking midfielder.

And it’s safe to say many were impressed.

A video highlights package of Havertz vs Rangers was uploaded to Twitter by @CFCNino_ and then discussed by fans on Reddit.

One fan commented: “That man is going to LOVE playing with Werner, CHO and Pulisic. That ball floated and gently bent over the CB… so beautiful.”

Another said: “He’ll be gutted with that missed 1 on 1, but looked extremely lively and positive. Love how he seems float all over the pitch, will make him very hard to keep track of for the defence, and what a screamer that crossbar effort would’ve been!

“Everything is 2-3 touch with him. I’m so excited for the tempo we’re going to be playing at next season with Pulisic, Werner, Ziyech, Havertz and Mount!” was another fan’s takeaway.

Supporters’ excitement over Havertz comes as club director Marina Granovskaia is reportedly planning to generate funds in order to meet Leverkusen’s asking price.

According to Italian publication, CalcioMercato, Chelsea are ready to reduce their £36million asking price for midfielder Jorginho this summer in order to recoup funds as quickly as possible.

Jorginho is poised to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with the midfielder not believed to be part of Lampard’s long-term plans.

Juventus are long-term admirers of the midfielder and are keen to take him back to Italy where he’d be reunited with ex-Blues boss Maurizio Sarri.

And now, it seems, the Serie A champions may get the chance to do that in a cut-price deal, with Chelsea ready to let him go in a plan to raise funds so that they can get the Havertz deal over the line.
