Chelsea set to finalises Declan Rice transfer deal from West Ham

Chelsea are set to finalises West Ham Declan Rice £70m move to Stamford this summer. The blues boss is making join effort with the Chelsea sporting director Marina Granovskaia in order to go far in next seasons UCL.

Chelsea have succeeded in getting Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner and are about to land Havertz. However, they will need to do something serious about their defence if they plan to go far in the competition.

Frank Lampard has outlined Rice as a top target for Chelsea as they continue to reinforce their squad. Frank Lampard’s plan could be to sign Rice and then convert him to a center back.

The 21-year old is no stranger in that position after playing as a defender in the past. However, he has played mostly as a Midfielder at West Ham but if he moves to chelsea, he could make his transition back into defence.

According to The Sun, West Ham may have to sell Rice to afford signings of their own this summer. David Moyes wants to strengthen his squad after they narrowly avoided relegation in 2019-20. The hammers will have to sell Rice for a fee around £70m in order to fund cash for other targets. Although selling their players might not be ideal, but the hammers have no choice than to do so. Because, the match day revenue they could have gotten from fans was hindered by covid-19.

So Chelsea fans do you think Declan Rice will make a great center-back for chelsea or do you think chelsea Should go for a more natural central defender?
