Chelsea Chief, Marina Granovskaia Confirms Blues First Double Signing in January 2021

Chelsea football club will most definitely be on the lookout for new signings to improve their squad when the transfer window opens in January.

The West London club have been ravaged with varying injuries to several key players which has affected the plans of manager Thomas Tuchel so far this season.

And following reports that Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell will require surgery and now expected to miss out the rest of the 2021/2022 season, the Blues are now aware of their need to sign a replacement in January.

And if reports are anything to go by, then Chelsea are keen on signing AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez when the transfer window opens in January.

The 24-year-old France International, who signed up for Serie A side AC Milan in 2019 has been an important member of the first-team squad since he made the move.

The young left-back enjoyed an interesting 2020/2021 season where he scored eight goals and created eight assists in 45 appearances in all competitions for AC Milan.

Theo Hernandez has also started the ongoing 2021/2022 season on a very good note and has scored two goals and provided five assists in 20 appearances in all competitions so far.

His impressive performances in that left-back role is believed to have caught the attention of Chelsea and according to reports from The Sun, the Blues are keen on bringing him to England.

The reports further claimed that Chelsea want to sign Theo Hernandez in January and are ready to push through a move for him when the transfer window opens.

It is believed that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is in need of a new left-back to provide cover for Marcos Alonso next year and will go all out to sign Theo Hernandez from AC Milan.

That said, it remains to be seen if AC Milan will be interested in offloading their reliable left-back Theo Hernandez to Chelsea when the transfer window opens in the new year.
