Three Nigeria police officers reportedly died on road accident due to over speeding on their way to stop End SARS protest at Akure in Ondo state.
One of the Global News Nigeria correspondence reported the incident, that three policemen have been killed on road accident along Oba-Ile Road, Akure North local government, after allegedly rushing to stop the end SARS protesters in the region area of Ondo state on Tuesday afternoon
Three others were said to be critically injured.
It could not be confirmed if the affected policemen were returning to base after performing electoral duties.
Witnesses said their Hilux van somersaulted severally before hitting the pavement.
Ondo Police spokesman, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the accident but said he was yet to be fully briefed.
A spokesperson for the Onde Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Omotola Ogungbawo, could not be reached for comments.
