Chelsea fans are calling for Enzo Maresca to be sacked a result of a clear regression in Cole Palmer’s form since he took over at the start of the season.
Maresca’s side won 1-0 against Leicester, having gone into half-time with the score level after Mads Hermansen saved Palmer’s penalty to keep his side in the game.
The second half saw the Blues take the lead thanks to Marc Cucurella’s strike, which was enough to earn them all three points at Stamford Bridge.
However, the home supporters’ attentions were fixed on the performance of Palmer, who was withdrawn after 73 minutes and headed straight down the tunnel following yet another below-par display.
The forward has failed to find the net in eight consecutive games across all competitions, leading to questions about his sudden decline in form.
The blame for Palmer’s recent form has been firmly placed at Maresca’s feet, with supporters claiming his tactics and formation are the cause of his decline.

Cole Palmer could quit Chelsea after pundits’ claims
Speculation about Palmer’s future has been rife in recent weeks amid claims he could look to leave Stamford Bridge if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson claimed Palmer could quit Chelsea this summer, while Graeme Souness suggested Palmer has downed tools under Maresca.
While the boss has insisted his star man is happy at the club and he is not concerned about his long-term future, speculation has not died down.
As things stand, Chelsea are in fourth place, moving above Man City following their 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, but remain just three points above seventh-placed Brighton.
Enzo Maresca slammed after Cole Palmer performance v Leicester
Despite their lofty league position, however, many fans have not been impressed by the style of play or general performances since Maresca was appointed last summer.
Palmer’s recent form has highlighted those concerns as last season’s main man has looked a shadow of his usual self in recent weeks.
Now, fans have taken to social media to express their anger towards Maresca for the clear regression in Palmer’s play in recent weeks as many are insisting the manager must be sacked.
