Welcome back to Chelsea: Fans hails star player arrival at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea fans have slammed the club over the treatment of Trevoh Chalobah and have called it “embarrassing”.

This follows claims that the 25-year-old defender’s loan spell in South London will be cut short [The Athletic] and will return the the club.

Chalobah was notably absent from Palace’s FA Cup tie against Stockport, with many assuming this was to avoid him being cup-tied and therefore ineligible to feature for Enzo Maresca’s side in the competition.

Palace fans, already fearing the worst, speculated that his omission was a clear sign of an imminent recall. Their concerns appear to have been justified, as reports now indicate that Chalobah will indeed return to Stamford Bridge.

However, Chelsea supporters have not taken kindly to the decision, expressing their discontent over what they perceive as poor treatment of the player.

Chelsea fans furious with Enzo Maresca

The English defender has been a key player in Olivier Glasner’s team since joining on loan, forming a reliable first-choice back three alongside Maxence Lacroix and Marc Guehi.

However, injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile have prompted his recall, as the club look to bolster Maresca’s defensive options.

Compounding the issue is Renato Veiga’s reported desire to leave due to limited playing time, leaving the squad looking thin at the back if a transfer materialises.

Football Insider revealed that the West London club have opened preliminary talks to re-sign Palace star Guehi, so Chalobah may be re-united with his partner soon.

Despite the circumstances, Chelsea fans have expressed strong disapproval of how Chalobah has been treated.

Chelsea are also interested in signing Marc Guehi.

One supporter criticised the decision, stating, “The board and Maresca have treated Chalobah like trash” while another labelled it “pure disrespect” and “embarrassing”, with multiple fans insisting the 25-year-old must receive a major apology.

Recalling Trev Chalobah after all the disrespect is so embarrassing. I’d bury my head in shame if I were the Board of Directors.

Kicked out of Chelsea pre season, told you’re not going to play again, finally finding some actual playing time for Palace and now we have recalled him……

Complete joke how we have handled his situation.
