Tyrique George reacts after star player sends goodbye message

Tyrique George has reacted on social media to a farewell from Chelsea during the January transfer window.

Zain Silcott-Dewbury posted online after moving to Bournemouth, and having joined the Blues’ academy at the U13 level from Norwich City, joins Andoni Iraola’s side as he looks to gain first-team minutes.

George, also a graduate of the Chelsea academy, has recently broken in to the first-team and made headlines after a photo of him and Jadon Sancho from almost a decade ago resurfaced.

The 18-year-old winger has regularly featured in the Europa Conference League for the Blues, but has yet to make his Premier League debut.

Chelsea may turn to the England U19 international soon, as they look to break out of a slump having failed to win in their last five league games.

Chelsea are loaded with talent in on the wing

Silcott-Duberry is a talented winger, as shown by Bournemouth’s decision to sign him, and breaking into the Chelsea first-team was always going to be a challenge.

As well as the aforementioned Sancho and George, the Blues are also blessed with Noni Madueke, Joao Felix and Pedro Neto in wide positions, making it difficult for any young player to break through on the wing.

Silcott-Duberry will instead compete with the like of Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo and Dango Outtara for a place in Bournemouth’s team.

Posting on Instagram on the day of the announcement, Silcott-Duberry said: “7 years comes to an end at Chelsea but memories and friendships are created from young with valuable lessons in between and I would like to say thank you to players and staff for helping me but Onto the next chapter….”

George then reacted with a simple love heart emoji, showing his support for his former teammate.

The exit of the talented youngster marks the first official permanent move for Chelsea this window, but it is unlikely to be the last, as they are currently linked to Bayern Munich star Mathys Tel.

After being held to a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on 14 January, the Blues will face Wolves in their next game on Monday (20 January).
