Madueke sends messages to Chelsea teammate ahead of Spurs game

Chelsea star Noni Madueke has taken to social media to send a message to teammate Malo Gusto ahead of their clash with Tottenham on Sunday (December 8).

Madueke, 22, was named the Player of the Match in Chelsea’s 5-1 Premier League win over Southampton in the previous round of fixtures, scoring one and providing the assist for Christoper Nkunku.

The winger is in the best form of his Chelsea career under Enzo Maresca, starting 13 of his 16 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals, and providing two assists in 1066 minutes of action.

Chelsea head into their clash with Spurs riding a three-game Premier League winning streak, currently sitting second in the table, seven points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.

Tottenham, on the other hand, are in danger of seeing their European qualification hopes slip away, languishing down in tenth after a frustrating 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth in midweek.

Gusto, 21, made his return from injury in the win over Southampton, assisting Jadon Sancho for Chelsea’s fifth and the winger’s first goal for the club.

The right-back has found himself in the spotlight once again thanks to Reece James’ injury issues, starting 11 of his 13 appearances across all competitions, yielding a total of 880 minutes of action.

Both players appear relaxed ahead of the London derby with Spurs, with Madueke taking to Instagram to share an image of him and “Ma boy” Gusto. Both are hoping to be selected for Chelsea’s clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after being left out of the starting XI against Aston Villa last weekend.

Maresca’s side have a grueling trip to Kazakhstan after the game against Spurs on Thursday (December 12) to face FC Astana in the Europa Conference League.

The West London club have seven games remaining in December alone as the hectic festive period gets underway
