Enzo Maresca has just faced the press after Chelsea's five-star performance against Southampton on Wednesday night.
The Blues struck rattled past the Saints as they climbed to second in the Premier League table with their latest three points. Understandably, Maresca was delighted with what he witnessed from his team - for the most part anyway - as you can read in football.london's full transcript below.
How did it feel to hear the fans chanting 'we've got our Chelsea back' and singing your name?
"It was a very good feeling especially because you can see that they are happy. That is our target and why we work every day, to keep them happy. Tonight was a very good feeling and especially the one that they can see Chelsea is back, this is the important thing."
You could have scored 10 tonight. Are you happy with the five you did score?
"I'm very happy with the five we scored but I'm not happy about the first 10 or 15 minutes when we struggled. The reason why we struggled is because we prepared the game to press them man-to-man but in the first 15 or 20 minutes, we were not pressing them man-to-man. This is a team that if you don't go man-to-man, then you struggle to recover the ball.
"Then after that, we adjusted that and the game was much better. But we could score more, but five goals is enough."
Are you happy with how the goals are being spread out?
"We said, if you remember from the beginning of the season, the way we played with the two wingers, the two attacking midfielders and the No.9 are in charge of the goals. You can see the goals from Noni, from Cole, from Jadon, from Nico, Christo - they are all attacking players and it's a good feeling that all of them can be involved in the goals.
"I think there are just three or four teams that have conceded less than us. So we are very happy."
Is it nice for the owners that Chelsea fans were chanting that 'we've got our Chelsea back'?
"I think it is a good feeling not only for the owners. For sure, it is for them, but also for the players, for the club, for the fans. It is a good feeling for all of us."
At the beginning of the season, people were talking about Chelsea being too chaotic...
"We are focused on that [performing] since the start. I think that the results, for sure, helps a lot; calms down a little bit of noise around the club. It's a good feeling especially to see the fans happy because after the last two years, you know better than me, many things happened. The feeling from them now is good and it is a good feeling also for us."
What did you make of the red card decision?
"I saw the action and then the referee decided, he checked the VAR, and then he decided. Nothing to add."
Do you think it was fair enough?
"Yes."
Would you say that Chelsea are a team that you would want to pay money to watch... like you said about Cole Palmer and Joao Felix recently?
"If you say that, then I'm very happy and we are very happy. As I said the other day, Cole and Joao are players that can see different things that the rest are not able to see. It doesn't mean the rest are not good.
"The good thing is, to see that type of player involved in the way we want to play, they are happy, scoring goals, they assist, this is the most important thing for us."
Filip Jorgensen made a couple of good saves tonight. Has he got a chance of being in goal versus Tottenham?
"That day we are going to play Sanchez and 10 players. The only one that is sure is Sanchez."
You left Noni Madueke out of the Aston Villa game. What did you make of his response tonight?
"With Noni, I have personal relation in terms of he can do much more. He can do much more. The moment he starts to score or assist and is happy, he starts to drop a little bit and the reason why he was not playing is because I do not like the way he trained.
"He has to understand that he has to train every day good. He has to be ambitious. He scored one tonight, he has to go for the second one and the third one. He has to give more assists.
"But overall, he is doing great, he is doing fantastic. He is doing even better in terms of numbers. Noni has to understand he has to work more because he can be much, much, much better."
Does having the squad you have allow you to make decisions like that with Noni?
"But also because there are players in behind that are ready. We have four wingers that are all very good. Pedro and Noni for the right side, Jadon and Misha for the left side and in the moment one of them drops for whatever reason, there is one in behind that is ready.
"Noni is not allowed to drop because Pedro is there and doing fantastic. If Pedro drops then Noni is there. The same thing on the other side. This is what they have to understand if we want to be there or be close for something important."
