You can't feed your family with trophies - I dey to Victor Osimhen

Ex Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye advice Victor Osimhen to consider a move to Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli, despite significant interest from Chelsea.

Osimhen, who is expected to depart Napoli after a successful four-year stint, has attracted attention from several top European clubs thanks to his standout performances.

Over 133 appearances for Napoli, the 25-year-old striker has amassed 76 goals and 18 assists.

While the Nigerian international has had a previous agreement with Napoli to leave this summer, the transfer process has become protracted.

Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Al Ahli are currently the main contenders for his signature. Despite the allure of European football, Al Ahli are reportedly making a substantial offer to entice Osimhen.

Ideye, a former Super Eagles star who was part of Nigeria’s triumphant 2013 Africa Cup of Nations squad, has advised Osimhen to prioritize financial incentives in his next move.

“If I’m him, I will go to Saudi, play two years, then go back to Europe. He’s still young,” Ideye stated on his X page.

He added, “Some players are doing that, I don’t know why his agent doesn’t want to allow him to take a pay cut and play in his dream club Chelsea, I think it’s more than we read online. You can’t feed your family with trophies; we all played football because that’s the only way out of the hood.

We want to have all the good things in life and take care of our family.”

As of now, no agreement has been finalized, but Osimhen’s future is expected to be determined within the next 72 hours.
