John Obi-Mikel has come out and confirmed that Chelsea legend Didier Drogba is speaking to Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and trying to get the big Nigerian star to make the move to Stamford Bridge
CHELSEA have struggled since the Todd Boehly takeover and have embarked on another huge spending spree under new manager Enzo Maresca, with nine new signings so far at a cost of over £161m.
However – there is a lot more transfer talk in the media that Chelsea still wants to add a new striker to the side that has the ability to score goals on a weekly basis, and Osimhen is a plan that the Blues would love to add to the squad.
He has already put in a transfer request in order to force a move out of the club, and according to Obi Mikel has come out and revealed that Drogba is trying to convince the big man to make the move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
He was quoted on the Metro: ‘He’s somebody who will get us goals and that’s something that we need right now. A fantastic guy, fantastic human being and I really do hope he comes to the club and I’ll try my best to make sure that happens.
‘Didier is also speaking to him, sharing his own ideas and what the club means to us. We all want to see Victor come to the club. If it happens, it happens.
‘It’s a huge transfer fee, but if we can match it and get him to the club that would be absolutely fantastic.’
We have said it on many occasions – Osimhen would b a brilliant signing for CHELSEA that would send a real statement to the rest of the Premier League – he is world class.
But if Chelsea dont want to pay the money – there is no point in to continuing to speak about a move.
