Three premier league clubs lineup to sign Chelsea star

Aston Villa, Fulham and Crystal Palace are all keen on a deal for banished Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah.

Chalobah, 25, has not been training with the Blues’ first team as they look to force him out of Stamford Bridge before the 30 August deadline.

Villa are among the Premier League clubs running the rule over a potential bid for the centre-back as their fruitful summer transfer window continues.

Fulham and Crystal Palace are also monitoring Chalobah’s situation at Chelsea.

The defender was initially training with Enzo Maresca’s first team upon his return for pre-season but was then left out of the squad for their tour of the United States.

Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoit Badiashile and Levi Colwill are the stars preferred by Maresca as the start of the 2024-25 campaign approaches.

Aston Villa in Chalobah hunt after Chelsea banishment

That is despite Chalobah’s assured performances under Mauricio Pochettino at the tail end of the 2023-24 season.

He made 17 appearances across all competitions last term, scoring once in 1227 minutes of action.

The centre-back’s contract at Stamford Bridge runs for four more years after the Sierra Leone-born ace penned a new deal in 2022.

Chalobah is set to become the latest academy product to leave Chelsea with Conor Gallagher set to follow Man United’s Mason Mount in exiting the club in the coming days.

Aston Villa are hunting centre-back reinforcements with question marks still lingering over Tyrone Mings’ fitness and Diego Carlos’ long-term future.

Crystal Palace are putting contingencies in place as they prepare to lose Marc Guehi, while Fulham have lost Adarabioyo to Chelsea on a free transfer.
