Bobby Vincent shares his half-time player ratings from the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara as Chelsea lead Wrexham at the break thanks to a goal from Christopher Nkunku
Chelsea are leading Wrexham 1-0 at half-time in their pre-season opener.
Reece James went close early on with his free-kick hitting the outside of the post. Marc Guiu went close to poking the ball in at the far post but apart from that, the Blues created very little at the Levi's Stadium.
But, not too long before the break, Christopher Nkunku's instinctive finish put Chelsea ahead. And with that said, here are how the Chelsea players did in the first-half in Santa Clara.
Robert Sanchez - Did well to keep James McClean's effort out on 30 minutes. Apart from that, he was not tested. 6.
Reece James - Looked bright. Inverting into the centre of midfield, as we expected. Some really dangerous set-piece deliveries. 7.
Tosin Adarabioyo - A promising debut. Dominant in the air. 6.
Benoit Badiashile - Didn't have too much to do. 6.
Levi Colwill - Highlight of the first-half was probably his and James McClean's bust-up. Essentially playing on the left-hand side of a back-three. Did fine. 6
Romeo Lavia - A couple of nice interceptions. Composed on the ball. A promising cameo from the man that played virtually no football last season. 6.
Carney Chukwuemeka - Not his best half. 5.
Christopher Nkunku - Took his goal in typical Nkunku style. Right place, right time. 8.
Noni Madueke - Not as involved as he would have liked but a couple of nice moments. 6.
Tyrique George - Looked bright. He stayed out really wide a lot of the time - clearly an Enzo Maresca tactic. But sometimes he wanted to come inside and dribble at the opposition. Looks a really exciting talent. 7.
Marc Guiu - Held it up well and pressed well. More to come from the young Spaniard. 6.
