Mauricio Pochettino told not to playing £39m signing in his best position

 Mauricio Pochettino has not been utilising Axel Disasi in his best position at Chelsea. This is according to ESPN pundit, Mario Melchiot.

Since he signed for the Blues, Disasi has mostly had to play as a centre-back. The Frenchman has also been deployed as a right-back on certain occasions.

However, Melchiot thinks that the defender is better-suited as a centre back than a full-back. The pundit made the assertion while speaking after Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Brighton at the weekend.

 

“I was surprised they didn’t play [Kaoru] Mitoma against Disasi,” former Chelsea defender Melchiot, told ESPN.

“Disasi, I don’t know if he’s going to be a right-sided player. I see him more like a centre-half.”

Disasi has been decent for Chelsea since he arrived from AS Monaco in the summer. The 25-year-old isn’t the best when he plays at right-back, but he wasn’t particularly too bad against the Seagulls.
