The Blues have two key players back in their squad before the Premier League’s restart this weekend.
Reece James and Axel Disasi trained with the rest of their Chelsea teammates on Wednesday.
James was reportedly ready to make his comeback against Burnley earlier this month but had to stay out of Chelsea’s squad due to a one-game ban. The Chelsea captain suffered a minor comeback in his rehab, but he seems to be back in full training ahead of his side’s upcoming match against Arsenal.
Disasi, on the other hand, suffered a thigh injury shortly after joining France at the start of the international break. The 25-year-old is unlikely to be fit for the game against Arsenal, but he could come back when Chelsea face Brentford a week later.
The duo’s return provides Mauricio Pochettino with a major injury boost, but Chelsea still has a host of crucial players on the sidelines. The likes of Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku, Benoit Badiashile, and Ben Chilwell are yet to complete their respective rehab processes as Chelsea prepare for a brutal set of games after the international break.
After meeting Arsenal on Saturday, Pochettino’s side will face Brentford, Tottenham, Manchester City, Newcastle, Brighton, and Manchester United in their next Premier League games until December 6.
